Customers at Sainsbury’s were stunned when they were being charged PS15 just for one onion. Customers were particularly confronted by the pricey onion at the grocery store’s online check-out. A customer was hit with a the bill of PS45.39 after putting three small brown onions into her shopping basket.
Sainsbury’s apologized, and blamed a glitch on its website. They told its customers that they are disappointed: “I’m sorry the price is excessive on your website. Customers will be charged at the correct rate on the day of delivery.”
