In the northern Vietnamese province Hai Duong has been taking measures to increase sales of lychee. The lychees of the Thanh Ha district will be maturing by the end of May. The district is famous for its lychees. Thanh Ha is currently home to 3,265ha of fruit. It also has 1,700ha that are the first to ripen. Nearly 400ha of the land has been certified to meet VietGAP requirements and 50ha have been certified by GlobaGAP.
China remains an important market for Vietnamese fruit lychees. In the coming year, exports of lychees to China faces many obstacles since this country is a strict and high-quality requirement to import agricultural products, and local communities need to improve their manufacturing organization and quality control according To Ngoc Son, Deputy Director of the Asia – Africa Market Department within the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
