Binaya Srikanta Pradhan, the Indian High Commissioner, said on the eve of yesterday that India is prepared to purchase as much avocado as it is readily available in Tanzania. He spoke during a meeting of stakeholders on trade in agricultural products held by the Mbeya Region branch of the Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (TCCIA).

Indian importers have been growing the amount of imported goods of Tanzania’s avocados and this opened the door to opportunities for Tanzania Agribusiness and farmers the agribusinesses, he added.

The envoy recommended that farmers are able to produce high quality avocados since there’s an established market in India following the completion of the emergence of a favorable import climate.
